About Us
About NaijaWide Media
Independent Digital Publishing Across News, Music and Entertainment
NaijaWide Media is an independent Nigerian digital publishing organisation founded in 2014. We operate digital publishing platforms that serve audiences in Nigeria, across Africa and around the world.
Our publishing portfolio currently includes TheNaijaWide.ng, our news platform covering Nigerian, African and international developments, and NaijaWide.net, our music platform focused on African music, artists, new releases and entertainment.
Although each platform has its own editorial focus and audience, both operate under NaijaWide Media and share our commitment to responsible publishing, accuracy, transparency and useful information.
Our Story
NaijaWide was founded in 2014 as a broad digital platform covering music, news, sports, entertainment and other areas of public interest.
As the platform developed, NaijaWide Media began separating its major publishing interests into dedicated platforms with clearer editorial identities.
The news operation moved from NaijaWide.com to TheNaijaWide.com in 2025 as part of this restructuring and later moved to its current home, TheNaijaWide.ng.
The music operation continues under NaijaWide.net, allowing the platform to focus specifically on African music and entertainment.
This structure allows each publication to develop its own editorial voice while remaining part of the wider NaijaWide Media organisation.

Our Mission
Our mission is to provide information that is accurate, timely, transparent and useful.
We believe reliable information helps people make better decisions. We therefore aim to publish content that does more than repeat claims.
Our work involves researching available information, identifying credible sources, clearly attributing information and distinguishing verified facts from allegations or unconfirmed claims.
As NaijaWide Media grows, we intend to expand our original reporting, interviews, research, investigations and public-interest journalism.
Our Editorial Approach
NaijaWide Media is committed to responsible publishing.
For news content, our team reviews available information and considers whether the main claims are supported by credible sources. Depending on the story, these may include official statements, government agencies, court documents, recognised institutions, public records, verified interviews, reputable news organisations and direct statements from people or organisations involved.
Where information cannot be independently confirmed, we attribute it clearly to the relevant source and avoid presenting an unverified claim as established fact.
For allegations involving individuals or organisations, we use language that reflects the status of the information. We do not present accusations as proven facts unless supported by a court decision, official finding or other reliable evidence.
When significant new information becomes available, we may update published reports. Where appropriate, important factual corrections or clarifications may be identified for readers.
Our Core Values
Accuracy
We aim to verify information before publication and correct significant errors when they are identified.
Timeliness
News and digital publishing are time-sensitive. We work to publish important developments promptly while maintaining appropriate editorial checks.
Transparency
We aim to identify sources where appropriate, distinguish facts from allegations and communicate significant corrections or updates when necessary.
Fairness
We aim to treat people and organisations fairly and avoid misleading headlines, selective quotations or unfair characterisation.
Independence
Editorial decisions remain independent of advertisers, sponsors and commercial partners. Commercial relationships do not determine the conclusions of our independent editorial coverage.
Responsibility
We recognise the impact that published information can have on individuals, organisations and communities. We therefore aim to publish responsibly and with appropriate context.
Editorial Independence
NaijaWide Media maintains editorial independence across its publishing platforms.
Advertising, sponsored content, brand partnerships and other commercial relationships do not control independent editorial decisions.
Where content is paid for, sponsored or promotional, we aim to identify it clearly so that audiences can distinguish commercial material from independent editorial content.
Accountability and Corrections
We recognise that publishing is an ongoing process and that errors can occur.
Readers who believe that a report contains a factual error can contact us through our relevant Contact page. We review credible correction requests and update content where necessary.
Minor corrections may be made directly within an article. Significant factual corrections may include a visible clarification explaining what was changed.
Our goal is to remain accountable to our readers and continuously improve our editorial processes.
Responsible Use of Technology
NaijaWide Media may use digital tools, including artificial intelligence-assisted tools, to support certain publishing and newsroom tasks.
These tools may assist with areas such as research support, grammar improvement, formatting, headline development and newsroom productivity.
Technology does not replace editorial responsibility.
Human editors remain responsible for reviewing, verifying and approving published content. Source verification, editorial judgement and accountability remain central to our publishing process.
A fuller explanation of our approach is available in our AI Usage Policy.
