FOLA – 9 (Album): Nigerian Singer Features Davido, Ayra Starr, BNXN and More

Nigerian Afrobeats singer FOLA has released his sophomore album, 9, a 14-track project that brings together his melodic sound, personal songwriting and collaborations with some of the biggest names in contemporary African music. Released on October 9, 2026, through Dangbana Republik and EMPIRE, the album follows his 2025 project Catharsis and marks another important step in his growing career.

The album features an impressive guest lineup, including Davido, Ayra Starr, BNXN, Darkoo, Bella Shmurda and Zlatan. The collaborations give the project a mix of different vocal styles and musical approaches while allowing FOLA to remain at the centre of the record.

The title 9 draws inspiration from football, where the number traditionally represents the striker expected to deliver goals when the team needs them most. FOLA uses that idea as a reflection of his own musical ambition, presenting himself as an artist listeners can count on for a memorable record.

Several songs on the album were introduced ahead of its release, including “Treat U Right” featuring Ayra Starr, “Attention!,” “Fine Ting (Fine $hit),” “It’s Over” featuring Bella Shmurda and Zlatan, and “Miss U II (Nriri).” The latter continues the story of his earlier “Miss You,” giving listeners a familiar emotional thread within the new project.

Beyond the featured artists, FOLA has described the album as a body of work shaped by personal experiences and collaborations with musicians and producers he admires. The project moves between solo records and guest-assisted tracks, giving him room to explore different moods while maintaining the melodic approach that has helped define his sound.

With 9, FOLA builds on the foundation laid by Catharsis and brings together established stars and newer voices in a project designed to reach a broad Afrobeats audience.
