Can’t Tame Us (Chelsea Anthem)
Ghanaian Afrobeats star King Promise joins forces with Chelsea Football Club on “Can’t Tame Us (Chelsea Anthem),” a football-inspired release celebrating the club’s supporters across Africa and the connection between music, football and community.
Released in September 2026, the song forms part of Chelsea’s wider effort to celebrate its African fanbase during the 2026/27 football season. King Promise, a lifelong Chelsea supporter, wrote the anthem as a personal tribute to the club and its fans. The track was released on September 28 on major music listings, while Chelsea confirms that it officially debuted earlier in September.
“Can’t Tame Us” brings King Promise’s smooth vocal delivery into a football setting, with a message built around pride, loyalty and the shared identity of Chelsea supporters. The song is intended to connect with fans beyond Stamford Bridge, particularly across Africa, where the club has a substantial following.
The accompanying music video was filmed in Accra, Ghana, at the Rent Paid Football Exhibition Tournament and Nungua SDA Park, where King Promise played football as a child. The tournament brought together Chelsea supporter groups from different parts of Ghana and also provided the setting for the club’s new home kit to be unveiled on African soil.
For King Promise, the project connects his career in music with a longstanding personal passion for football. Returning to Nungua SDA Park gave the video a connection to his childhood, while footage from the tournament captured the atmosphere among local Chelsea supporters.
Chelsea brand director Scott Fenton said the collaboration came about after King Promise proposed the idea, adding that the partnership was intended to celebrate the club’s African fans and the culture surrounding the team. The song is expected to feature at Chelsea fixtures throughout the 2026/27 season.
With its blend of contemporary Afrobeats and football culture, “Can’t Tame Us (Chelsea Anthem)” gives King Promise an opportunity to celebrate his support for Chelsea while creating a song for Blues fans across Africa and beyond.
