Nigerian Afropop star Yemi Alade teams up with indigenous rap sensation JeriQ on her latest single, “Overtake,” bringing together two distinctive Nigerian sounds on a vibrant new collaboration.

Released on September 11, 2026, “Overtake” appears on Yemi Alade’s seventh studio album, It’s Yemi Alade. The 16-track project brings together artists from across Africa, with JeriQ among the Nigerian acts featured on the album. (Africa Hall of Fame⁠)

The collaboration gives “Overtake” an interesting meeting point between Yemi Alade’s polished Afropop delivery and JeriQ’s distinctive Igbo-influenced rap style.
