Nigerian Afrobeats star and songwriter Ruger has officially released his latest project titled “R.U. (Raw & Unfiltered), Vol. 1,” a six-track body of work that presents another side of his evolving artistry.
True to its title, “R.U. (Raw & Unfiltered), Vol. 1” gives Ruger room to express himself freely across a compact collection of records. The project combines his distinctive vocals, bold songwriting and melodic approach with contemporary Afrobeats, Afro-fusion and influences drawn from across the African music landscape.
The project features South African stars Musa Keys and Young Stunna on “Do Nothing,” while MC Morena joins Ruger on “Private Chef.” These collaborations introduce different textures to the project while allowing Ruger’s unmistakable musical personality to remain at its centre.
