Nigerian singer and rapper Dotman returns with a reflective new single titled “Long Time Coming,” a personal record that looks back on the patience, setbacks and persistence behind his musical journey.

Released on October 1, 2026, “Long Time Coming” arrives as a solo single and follows Dotman’s recent “Lagos Vibes.” The new release continues his renewed run of music in 2026 after a quieter period in his catalogue.

Produced by Meezy, the song is built around an Afro-fusion backdrop that gives Dotman room to move between Yoruba and Nigerian Pidgin English. His delivery feels conversational and personal, keeping the focus on the experiences behind the song rather than relying on a guest performance.

At the heart of “Long Time Coming” is the idea that meaningful progress does not always happen quickly. Dotman reflects on paying his dues, working through setbacks and dealing with criticism, presenting his journey as one shaped by patience and continued effort.

The message also connects with themes Dotman has explored in earlier music, including his 2010s-era record “Giveaway,” where he touched on the process of working towards success. The new single brings that perspective into his current chapter while maintaining his established blend of melody and Nigerian cultural expression.

“Long Time Coming” adds another reflective entry to Dotman’s 2026 catalogue, following “Choko Milo” and “Lagos Vibes” as he continues releasing new material.

With its personal storytelling, Afro-fusion production and message of perseverance, “Long Time Coming” captures Dotman reflecting on how far he has travelled while acknowledging the work and patience required to keep moving forward.
