Nigerian rapper Champz returns with a new solo single titled “Groove,” continuing to develop his identity as a young artist with a sound that draws from rap, Afroswing and contemporary UK influences.

Released on September 25, 2026, “Groove” arrives as Champz’s latest release following his four-track Young Poet EP, which dropped earlier in the year. The new single keeps the focus entirely on Champz, giving him room to showcase his conversational delivery, rhythmic flows and growing confidence as a rapper.

Produced by BG, the record moves away from a conventional Afrobeats approach and instead blends Afroswing and UK-influenced rap with a laid-back groove. Champz rides the production with catchy hooks and direct lyrics, touching on themes of protecting his peace, ambition, relationships and staying focused on his goals.

“Groove” also gives listeners another glimpse into the musical direction Champz is carving out for himself. Rather than simply following the sound associated with his father, Wizkid, the young rapper continues to explore a more rap-driven lane that incorporates elements of UK hip-hop and Afroswing.

The release adds to a rapidly developing catalogue that began with his debut Champions Arrival EP in November 2025 before he followed up with Young Poet in March 2026. “Groove” represents another standalone step in that progression, allowing Champz to further establish his own voice outside a larger project.

With its relaxed production, rap-focused delivery and UK-inspired edge, “Groove” captures Champz continuing to experiment with his sound while building on the momentum around his early releases.
